How it works

Mix one teaspoon into 150 ml / 5 oz of water, hot or cold. No grinder, no filter and no pod.

Step 1: squeeze NoNormal coffee paste into a cup.

This is not instant coffee

Instant coffee is brewed and then dried, and drying is where most of the aroma gets lost. NoNormal coffee is never dried. We brew 100% Colombian Arabica, then reduce it to a concentrate about twenty times stronger than a usual cup.

We add microgrounded coffee for some extra body and natural thickener holds it together so it never needs a fridge, before or after opening.

The beans come from Colombia. Everything after that happens in Switzerland with a tube that is made of 100% recycled aluminium.

Why we made it

No adventure is normal.

We started NoNormal because we were tired of choosing between great coffee and going light. A Moka pot at the summit was a lot of gear. Instant powder was a compromise we stopped making. So we built something better, a highly concentrated coffee paste that goes anywhere, weighs nothing, and tastes like it was worth the climb.

What is NoNormal coffee?

A coffee paste that comes in a resealable aluminum tube. Mix 1 tsp (5 g) with 150 ml / 5 oz of water. The paste dissolves and gives you the perfect coffee. One tube provides 20 cups and can be stored unrefrigerated.

How does it taste?

Classic Black tastes like pure, bold coffee without any sweetness - exactly what you'd expect from premium Colombian Arabica beans. Sweet Black adds a light touch of Swiss beet sugar with notes of chocolate, nuts and caramel.

What is inside?

We only use Arabica coffee beans from Colombia and natural thickeners. Sweet Black also contains Swiss beet sugar.

How much caffeine is in it?

One serving is 1 tsp (5 g) of paste mixed with 150 ml / 5 oz of water.

Classic Black: 60 mg of caffeine per serving
Sweet Black: 45 mg of caffeine per serving

How long is its shelf life?

18 months from production. Depending on when you receive your coffee, this timeframe can vary. Please check the tube fold for the best before date.

How else can you use it?

Both tubes stir into protein shakes and smoothies, work in baking and coffee-flavoured desserts, and hold up as an ingredient in savoury marinades. Sweet Black is the one to spread on bread or eat straight from the tube. Classic Black is too intense for that.
